NAPA Music Festival Application
Napa Composers Workshop Application
Early Bird: Application + fee + audition video received by December 15, 2015 for priority casting consideration. Casting will continue until all positions have been filled. A Late Fee of $100 will apply after March 15, 2016. Applications will be accepted through May 15, 2016.
Applications will be reviewed upon receipt of application and fee. Casting decisions will be announced on a rolling basis as applications are received. It is therefore highly recommended that you submit your application as soon as possible.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Auditions are by online video submission only through our online application. Please contact Festival administraion if you have trouble submitting your video.
Please select repertoire that demonstrates the full range of your technical and dramatic abilities. If you are auditioning for more than one program, you may include up to two (2) additional selections to fulfill all audition requirements, to a maximum of five (5) pieces. All selections should be sung from memory unless otherwise stated.
At the beginning of your video, please announce your name, the program(s) for which you are auditioning, and the name and composer of each piece.
Absolute Artist Program
At least three (3) contrasting selections:
- One must be in English (this may be an aria, art song, or cabaret song)
- One must be an aria in Italian composed before 1800 (Handel preferred, but not required)
- Any piece of applicant's choice
Vocal Technique Intensive Program
Two (2) contrasting pieces from any vocal genre, or combination of genres (classical, musical theater, jazz, pop, folk, country, etc.)
Cabaret Conservatory
Two (2) contrasting songs from cabaret, jazz, or musical theater repertoire
Napa Teen Vocal Track
Two (2) contrasting pieces from any vocal genre, or combination of genres (classical, musical theater, jazz, pop, folk, country, etc.)
