Cabaret Conservatory

For singers ages 16 and up *

This program offers detailed and progressive instruction in "telling your story in song" and developing a solo cabaret act, beginning with the selection of song material best-suited to your voice and stage persona. Next, the songs are perfected vocally, stylistically, and dramatically through intensive coaching and master class analysis. Students will receive instruction in creating connecting monologue ("patter") drawn from personal experience. Finally, students will study the production and marketing of a solo cabaret show.

Students attend Festival concerts at no charge.

Singers will participate in concerts, and will construct, prepare, produce, and perform a 20 min. solo cabaret act of their own.
