Heidi Moss

Over the past decade, soprano Heidi Moss has performed with many Bay Area opera companies and symphonies. She has sung as a San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow in the premier of Gang Situ's opera The Grand Seducers and in the company's outreach production of The Barber of Seville as Rosina. She recorded Gordon Getty's new opera Usher House with both the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and the Russian National Orchestra, and performed with Ensemble Paralelle and SF MoMA in their groundbreaking production of 4 Saints in 3 Acts.

Performance highlights include her portrayal of Oscar in Memphis Opera's Un Ballo in Maschera in February 2003, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in Italy, and her term as Resident Young Artist with Dicapo Opera Theater in New York City, where she performed in Gianni Schicchi (Nella), Falstaff (Nanetta) and La Cenerentola (Clorinda). She has also performed as Papagena in The Magic Flute and as Mlle. Silberklang in The Impresario, Scott Bergeson conducting.

Heidi has won top honors in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Liederkranz Competition, the MacAllister Awards, and New York Vocal Artists, and performed in concert with renowned pianist Lang Lang. She has sung numerous recitals in New York City and San Francisco, including appearances with LIEDER ALIVE!, with the contemporary music ensemble M2B, and in solo concerts sponsored by the Liederkranz Foundation and Trinity Church in New York. She has collaborated with composers Jake Heggie, Daron Hagen, Gordon Getty, Dusan Bogdanovic, Peter Salvi, Henry Mollicone, Liam Wade, and Kurt Erickson, among others.

Since her college studies in Biology, Heidi has fostered an interest in scientific research. She maintains an academic collaboration with Rockefeller University, has published papers in reviewed scientific journals and was featured in the New York Times in 1999. Heidi was stricken with Bells Palsy in 2007, leaving one side of her face permanently paralyzed.
